Tech Tip Product: Series 15/Series 44 Tech Tip #: SCSI.008 Originator: Peter Jarrett Date: August 1992 Subject: Interactive Unix Release 3.0.1 The Bustek 742A driver supplied with this version of Interactive UNIX supersedes the one we are currently shipping; this version will support both Series 15 and Series 44 SCSI Host Adapters. New Cache Flush Utility ver 1.0.3 is required for this new version of ISC 3.0.1. Possible Release Date: Thursday, August 20, 1992. Current Problem with (Bustek configured) SCSI Host Adapters and American Megatrends Motherboards With ISC 3.0.1., a Bustek 742A SCSI Host Adapter or an American Megatrends SCSI Host Adapter will fail when a Bustek 742A kernel is made and the system restarted. There is no immediate work-around for the Bustek controller, but with the American Megatrends SCSI Host Adapter, the following configuration settings should be entered as the Bustek kernel configuration information: INT = 11 Primary Port Address = 330 Primary Memory Address = C800 DMA = 5 and the device table should be filled in with the device type at the requested SCSI id. The American Megatrends SCSI Controller should be configured accordingly. According to Interactive (as of Friday, August 21, 1992), they will be shipping, on request only, a Bustek driver update to any customer that will correct this problem with the Bustek controller and the American Megatrends controllers. We are waiting for the new driver files from Interactive to arrive so that we can begin testing.
